Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization’s Deputy for Plant Production Affairs said: Peanut packaging is one of the important ways to increase farmers’ incomes.

Leila Bazarkar said: the threshold of peanut production is in Gilan and after this city there is almond production in Rasht, Talesh, Rudbar and Anzali.

He added: 2 thousand and 507 hectares of Astana orchards are dedicated to almond cultivation and 5 thousand and 500 kilos more almond cocoons are obtained per hectare.

Bazarkar continued: The planting of peanuts will start in May and the harvest of this crop will be completed by the end of October.

He pointed out: This year, almond growers earned 90 billion tomans from the sale of 11,000 tons of peanuts.

Gilan Jihad Agricultural Organization Deputy Minister of Plant Production, pointing out that improving orchards will increase the production of peanut orchards in the province, noted: Almond cultivation gives good income to almond farmers.

He added: Peanuts are often sold in bulk, while the sale of this product in neat and appropriate packaging returns the added value of this product to the almond growers.

Bazarkar said: Packaging of agricultural products is one of the important ways to increase farmers’ incomes and the sale of products should be done according to customer tastes and attracting international markets to return the added value of production of this product to almond farmers.
