The first golden ears of rice bore fruit
The head of Gilan Agricultural Jihad Organization said: Today, the first golden clusters of rice in the province were planted in Shaft city.
Alireza Shabannejad in the meeting of the Agricultural Council, which was held in the hall of Shahid Ansari of Gilan Governorate on the occasion of the celebration of Agricultural Week, said: Reviving the Agricultural Council in Gilan is a positive step towards the development of this sector, which is very good in Gilan.
He pointed out that there are 238,000 hectares of paddy lands in Gilan, noting: The first rice cultivation in Shaft city has been reported to us today.
The head of Gilan Agricultural Jihad Organization, pointing out that in general the market of Gilan agricultural products is balanced and only rice has a false price, clarified: serious measures have been taken to prevent any change in the use of Gilan paddy fields.
He said: Land protection coverage in the country is about 56 to 60 percent, while this coverage in Gilan is 88 percent and we are ahead of the national average in agricultural land protection.
Shabannejad pointed out: Last year, with the cooperation of the Guilan Housing Foundation, 14,000 hectares of agricultural lands were removed from the scope of the master plan due to land use change.
Noting that paddy cultivation is prohibited, he added: Last year, more than 2,000 warnings were issued for land that the owners seemed to want to leave without cultivation.
He further informed about the development of noghandari in Gilan and said: one million berry seedlings have been planted in the treasury of the province and it is hoped that these seedlings will play an effective role in achieving the goals of the country’s silk revival policy.
He announced the establishment of agricultural town companies in Gilan and said: Gilan is one of the top provinces in the country in creating these companies.
Regarding the situation of fisheries in Gilan, the head of the Gilan Agricultural Jihad Organization said: Fish farming in cages in Gilan continues with vigor and we currently have volunteers to produce 12,000 tons.
