The first Iranian rice seedling in Mazandaran

The first Iranian rice seedling in Mazandaran

Due to the fact that this time is not recommended for farmers to plant rice by the Jihad Agricultural Organization, but this rice transplant was done in the village of Ahangarkola Olya Amol.

Rice is one of the most important grains and food items in the country, especially in Mazandaran, so that this province ranks first among other provinces in rice production.
While suitable conditions for rice cultivation and the average temperature required for rice during growth should be between 20 and 37 degrees Celsius; Low temperatures early in the growing season or irrigation of the field with cold water can delay the ripening of seeds; High temperature also reduces the number of fertile spikelets and grain weight. One of the farmers of Ahangarkalay village of Dabudasht has started the first rice planting in the country.

Due to the fact that this time is not recommended for farmers to plant rice by the Jihad Agricultural Organization, but this rice transplant was done in the village of Ahangarkola Olya Amol.

Mehdi Gholami, an activist farmer in Mazandaran, who is the first person to plant rice in Ahangar Kola Olya area of Dabudasht, Amol, said in an : I have been farming ever since and grew up in the rice fields.

He stated: Every year, I transplant a part of my agricultural land early; I did not cultivate for 2 years; But this year I did this transplant again early; Usually in my village I am always the first person to plant the land.

Mazandaran farmer said: This year, by inviting the officials, I cultivated 4,000 meters of my agricultural lands; There is no shortage of water and I have a big water well on the ground; And every year I harvest the second crop well.

Gholami further stated: In my opinion, early planting does not harm the seedling; If our rice is grown well for seedlings and the seedlings are healthy, they will never have a problem with the cold.

The best time to grow rice is warm water and soil
Hossein Eslami, director of the Amol Agricultural Jihad, stated: Technically, this type of transplanting has not been approved by us.
He said that transplanting was not technically correct before April 6, adding that due to lack of water, farmers started transplanting 10 to 15 days earlier; The Agricultural Jihad Organization does not technically accept this type of transplant before the announced date.

The senior agricultural expert stated: At the invitation of the farmer for early transplanting, we went to visit the farmer’s lands and witnessed the planting of rice; By the order of Jihad Nasha Organization, we will start mechanized work in one of the cities of the province by planning and using a transplant machine.

The director of Amol Agricultural Jihad stated: 4,000 square meters of this farmer’s land was planted earlier than the original time; Planting time should be when the soil and water are warm; In the coming days, the temperature will be 8 degrees, which is harmful to rice; A minimum temperature of 24 and a maximum of 34 degrees are also desirable for transplanting time.

The first stage of the rice production process is rice storage, which begins with the plastic coating and after plowing the paddy fields; While traditionally paddy cultivation in Mazandaran always started from the end of March with plowing, furrowing and treasury; In recent years, due to the expansion of the second crop and water shortage, this work has been extended to early March and sometimes even mid-February; However, this type of rice seedling is not recommended to farmers by the Agricultural Jihad Organization
