Iranian dried fruits are unrivaled in the world in terms of taste, but we have problems in terms of packaging.

Mohammad Hossein Shamsfard, President of the Iranian Dried Fruit Exporters Association, added: Iranian dried fruit is supplied in bulk in low-endurance cartoons to various markets, and this has had a negative impact on the export of this product.

Referring to the weakness of packaging in Iran, Shamsfard said: The use of substandard materials in the production of packaging cartons on the one hand and the pressures on the goods along the way on the other hand show the indifference to the packaging industry in the country.

The head of the Iranian Dried Exporters Association added: This union supplies pistachios in bulk according to the customer’s request.

He emphasized: The target markets of Iranian pistachios, due to tax evasion on the one hand and the preference to offer this product in their stylish packaging on the other hand, import Iranian pistachios in bulk and only Iranian pistachios are mentioned on the packaging. »

Referring to the standards of domestic products, Shamsfard said: The standards of Iranian goods are only accepted at customs. Importing countries import Iranian goods according to their own standards.

This is the reason why the products that are sold domestically as first-class products at high prices are even considered to be of poor quality in the global markets, he said.

The head of the Iranian Dried Exporters Association considered quality as the most important criterion for buying Iranian dried fruits and stated: Pistachios are bought by weight and based on ounces. For example, pistachios are numbered from the largest type, ie number 18-20, to the smallest type, ie. The number is graded 30-32, and each of these numbers also includes the types of head, hazelnut, almond and smiling.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, peanuts that are imported freely from China and the United States are unlicensed and its import is prohibited, Shamsfard said, citing the import of dried fruits from foreign countries.

He considered the basis of export as a standard certificate and emphasized: The export of dried fruits is based on the supervision and certificates provided by the standard institute, therefore, Iranian dried fruits are exported with the assurance of high quality.
