The director of Jihad Keshavarzi Zirkuh, pointing out that cumin is a product that needs a lot of water, added: This year, due to the increase in rainfall, this crop will see more prosperity and about 180 families will earn income from harvesting this crop.
Javad Darvishi, stating that the harvest of cumin plant began in Zirkuh city, said: over 100 hectares of mountain pastures in Zirkuh are under cumin cultivation, which is expected to harvest 220 kg of cumin from these pastures.
The director of Zirkuh Agricultural Jihad said that the best time to harvest this crop is mid-June to mid-July and said: Cumin plant has the best quality and quality for picking in this period, so farmers harvest cumin during this period.
Dervishi stated: If the farmers arrange the plant before the plant is fully ripe, the plant will be free of any fragrance and will have no nutritional value.
He introduced cumin as a valuable souvenir of this region and reminded: black cumin is used as a strong flavoring in most of the drinks and foods of the people of Zirkuh city and gives a very delicious taste to local food.
