The lack of creativity in the enamel market has stagnated
Art is the soul of the universe and the artist narrates the beautiful stories of God. Enamelling is an art of love and fire. Enamel is a lasting art whose survival perpetuates the identity of society.
The head of the Isfahan Handicrafts Union, referring to the 1,500-year history of enameling in Iran, said: The Seljuk and Safavid periods are the heyday of enameling in Iran, but this art has declined in the late Qajar period.
Gholam-Ali Faizollahi stated: After the end of the World War and with the arrival of enamel paint and glaze in Iran, there were changes in the baking of the enamel dish and this art by Master Saniezadeh.
He added: After the first developments in this art, the students of Master Saniezadeh, namely Master Gholam Hossein Faizollahi, the late Mehdi Ghaffarian and Master of Art, continued this great movement so that this art would reach its peak of artistic maturity and beauty.
He pointed out that in the past, creating art in the field of enameling has made Iran proud, he continued: Unfortunately, in recent years in most enamel shops and workshops can only be seen the use of Islamic style.
The head of the Isfahan Handicrafts Union pointed out that the use of styles such as flowers, chicken, khatai and other styles can boost the market for the sale of enamel products, and added: The lack of creativity in the enamel market has stagnated.
Faizollahi Babian stated that Isfahan is the only city producing enamel in Iran: Talented and creative artists are active in this field in Isfahan who can use their experiences to help the growth and development of this original Iranian art.
He pointed out that many artists in this field are only interested in generating income, noting that the use of repetitive designs and disregard for artistic values and the tastes of tourists and the market has caused a recession in this art market.
