The share of handicraft exports in Isfahan province increased

Isfahan Province Deputy Minister of Planning and Coordination of Economic Affairs announced: The share of handicraft exports in Isfahan province has quadrupled this year compared to last year.
Speaking at the meeting of the province’s Export Development Committee, Engineer Tehrani mentioned the export of handicrafts in 1979 as $ 7 million and said: With the increase in the share of exports in the handicrafts sector, the province’s exports for this year are projected at $ 657 million.
The deputy governor for planning said: We must examine the export advantages of various goods and support the goods that can be exported and have a high advantage for export. He said that the provincial handicrafts organization has announced its readiness to increase the share of handicraft exports in the province to 28 million dollars this year, adding: Considering the high facilities and potentials of handicrafts in the province, it is necessary to invest in this sector. Pay special attention.
Pointing out that handicrafts can be a very important factor in creating jobs with a minimum per capita, even in the most remote parts of the province, Tehrani said: The scope of work in this field is very large and measures must be taken to remove obstacles to the production and export of handicrafts. In this meeting, he mentioned some of the problems of export unions related to the Chamber of Commerce and added: In our opinion, the formed unions are official and the Chamber of Commerce is obliged to cooperate with the unions.
In the end, he also stressed the need for the presence of official representatives of export unions in customs and asked the Director General of Customs to cooperate with these representatives.
The head of the handicrafts organization of the province in this meeting said that the most important obstacles to the production and export of handicrafts are the lack of proper packaging of goods, lack of liquidity of existing handicraft workshops, lack of experts in the field of handicrafts in customs and incomplete information to consumers. He mentioned the establishment of public companies investing in the export of handicrafts, active presence in computer networks and the establishment of direct sales bases of handicrafts in foreign countries as effective steps in the development of handicraft exports.
Also in this meeting, the head of the Agricultural Organization mentioned the share of exports of the agricultural sector for the current year of 12 million dollars and added: this amount will fluctuate by 10 to 20 percent due to drought.
In this meeting, the union officials criticized the tax collection and the lack of cooperation of the Chamber of Commerce, the problems of land and air transportation, as well as the non-recognition of the unions by the government agencies.
Also in this meeting, it was decided to form a committee to review and resolve the problems of exporting handicrafts in the governorate and to take the necessary measures.
