The FAO representative in Iran stated: Pistachio producing countries, especially the United States, have been able to become a strong competitor of the Islamic Republic of Iran by using Iranian pistachio technology.
Najm added: What is very important in this project is that in this project, production is not thought of and processing, storage, marketing and distribution are of great importance.
He considered this joint project between the Ministry of Health, exporters and the private sector to be the responsibility of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture and added: All relevant agencies should be involved in this project and as soon as this project is signed, related activities will begin. .
The FAO representative in Iran, stating that the level of standards in Iran is evolving, added: European countries have raised the standard level of aflatoxin pollution, which we must also reach this level.
In the end, he reminded: the statistics of 2006 show that the world production of pistachios was 576 thousand tons, of which 230 thousand tons was Iran’s share and last year Iran’s pistachio exports increased by six percent.
