This year 130000 tons of pistachios have been exported
In the first nine months of this year, 130,000 tons of pistachios worth $ 560 million were exported from the country.

Tahmasebi, referring to the declining trend of Iranian pistachio exports after the embargo due to aflatoxin contamination in 1976, said: Began, exports reached 152,000 tons in 1981, which is a record.
The Deputy Minister of Horticulture of the Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture, referring to the two projects Management of pistachio orchards and Improvement of pistachio production areas said: The pistachio orchards of the country have been improved and overproduction of more than 181 thousand tons will be obtained.
Tahmasebi continued: The purpose of implementing the plan to secure production areas is to prevent the return of pistachio green skin as one of the sources of contamination in orchards, which is expected to be used in the pharmaceutical and animal feed industries.
Referring to the development of sanitary processing terminals for pistachio processing and packaging, he said: In 1976, there were 100 pistachio terminals in the country, which has now reached 700 terminals and the number of unsanitary terminals has decreased from 60,000 to 20,000 units .
Deputy Minister of Horticulture of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture, in the end, considered the low yield of pistachio production in the country as one of the most important obstacles to production and emphasized: « The average yield of pistachio orchards in the country is one ton Hectares.
