This year the situation of hazelnuts is better than last year

‌The director of Rudsar Agricultural Jihad said: this year the situation of hazelnuts in the city is better than last year.

Ehsanullah Mushtaq said: Rudsar city is the center of hazelnut production in the country.

He added: Last year we saw a lot of damage due to cold and drought in hazelnut orchards, but fortunately this year the situation is good and hazelnut orchards have not been damaged.

Mushtaq continued: On average, 10,000 tons of hazelnuts are produced in Rudsar and there is currently an industrial hazelnut processing unit in Rudsar.

The director of Rudsar Agricultural Jihad said: the abundance of raw hazelnuts causes the added value of this product to go to the pockets of hazelnut growers.

Regarding the situation of rice in Rudsar city, Mushtaq pointed out that Rudsar city is one of the high quality rice producing cities in the country, and said: Despite the lack of water, this year we will see an increase in white rice production in Rudsar city.

He added: Mechanized rice production reduces the cost of rice production and facilitates the competition for domestic rice with foreign rice, and therefore mechanized rice production is one of the work priorities of Rudsar Agricultural Jihad.

He added: It is predicted that 70% of Rudsar rice will be harvested mechanized this year.
