Tree design in Iranian carpet

Using their natural and traditional patterns, Iranian carpet weavers design patterns in their minds or on paper and apply it in the best way on the carpet. One of these motifs, which is widely used and is very popular among carpet weavers, is the tree design. This design, as its name suggests, is adapted from nature, flowers and plants and is woven using natural symbols.
The tree design in Iranian carpets has its own characteristics and experts and those interested in this field use these features to distinguish it from other designs. Some of the features of the mentioned design in Iranian carpets are as follows.

Features of tree design in Iranian carpet
1- The use of simple and abstract branches in tree design is very common and carpet weavers use it abundantly.
2. Although abstract and simple designs are widely used, this design is known for its resemblance to natural forms, which is why it is called a tree.
3- The experts consider the roots and the main background of the mentioned project to be related to the city of Ravar in Kerman province and the evidence shows that the carpet weavers of this region have had a long history in weaving these types of carpets.

The design of a tree, like all the patterns and drawings used in carpets, is composed of different types and details, and it has various subsets, some of which are mentioned below. Of course, this division is based on the elements used in these roles and drawings.
1- Animal design that is accompanied by a tree and is also known as an animal. In this design, the birds can be seen on the leaves of the trees, and the animals are grazing next to the trees.

4- Survey and nationwide designs are other types of this type of design that are used in Iranian carpet weaving.
