Varamin handmade carpet
Varamin is 35 kilometers west of Tehran and one of the cities of Tehran province which is located in a lush and vast plain of the same name and is one of the old cities of Iran. The city is 51 degrees 35 minutes wide and 35 degrees 19 minutes long and 915 meters above sea level.
Varamin is bounded on the north by Lavasanate, on the east by Khvar and Garmsar, on the west by Peshapoye Cave, and on the south by the Central Desert.
Carpet weaving in Varamin has been booming ever since Mr. Mohammad Khan Qajar chose Tehran as the capital of the country and settled in Varamin plain due to the presence of various tribal leaders.
Design and role: Carpet weaver designs in this area are different. The texture of public designs such as bergamot and spruce is common among all weavers, and Minakhan is the area’s most famous design, woven with a light blue background, garlic, cream and red. The design usually features single, large flower buds that look great in the field and bergamot. Other motifs of Varamin carpets include Zalat al-Tastani, Vase and Shah Abbasi. The rotation of the sun, the crucifix, the bird, the goose, the horn of the ram, the paw, and the puffy are the carpets of these carpets.
Color: The dominant color in the Varamin Lucky carpet is cream, navy, blue, and beige. In the past, dyeing was used for vegetable dyes but nowadays industrial dyes are used. Wool and other fibers are dyed at the same site and turned into yarn.
Texture: The carpet of this area is woven with symmetrical and asymmetrical knit, short lint and medium ruff. These carpets have been well-known in the past for small fabrics, such as a wicker and woolen rugs, and rugs that Arab women weave. Carpet weaving is also common in the area. The size of these carpets is large and compact, and is woven and supplied with local dark wool and a variety of podiums and motifs, usually with vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines.
