Walnut harvest began in Yazd province

Horticulture expert of Yazd Jihad Agricultural Organization announced the beginning of walnut harvest in 1765 hectares of orchards in this province.
Zabihi further predicted that 1,500 to 1,700 tons of walnuts would be harvested from the province’s orchards this year.
He named Taft city with 1400 hectares of cultivated area as the main product production center of this province and mentioned Mehriz, Khatam and Bahabad districts as other production areas of this product.
Zabihi mentioned the walnut cultivars of the province, including native, stone and paper, and announced: the walnut harvest will continue until the end of September.
In the end, the horticulture expert of Yazd Jihad Agricultural Organization also recommended measures such as insuring the gardens, using new feeding methods, using drip irrigation methods and standardizing the gardens to the users of the province.
