Walnut is a traditional and valuable product in Oramanat region
The head of the Kurdistan Agricultural Jihad Organization said: Walnut is produced as a valuable and traditional product from the distant past until now in Kurdistan, especially in the Oramanat region of Sarvabad.
Karim Zolfaghari in the first walnut festival in Sarvabad city, emphasizing that Sarvabad city is one of the cities prone to produce garden products, added: out of 7,500 hectares of walnut orchards in Kurdistan province, 2,500 hectares are allocated to Sarvabad city, which in More than 3 to 3.5 tons of walnuts are harvested per hectare.
He added: By constructing technical gardens using suitable cultivars (Chandler), in addition to increasing income, it is possible to produce quality products.
The head of the Kurdistan Agricultural Jihad Organization stated: One thousand millimeters of rain in the west of the province, which also includes Sarvabad city, can provide the possibility of generating wealth in this region.
He emphasized: Horticulture and beekeeping are also complementary. Gardeners should take advantage of a healthy garden by doing beekeeping (pollination) in order to produce quality products.
Zolfaghari, referring to 34,000 hectares of irrigated gardens in Kurdistan province, noted: Currently, 1,938 hectares of irrigated gardens are under construction, of which 5,000 hectares will be allocated to walnut orchards by planting Chandler cultivar (modified walnut cultivar). It has and bears fruit in 4 years.
According to this official, in addition to its healing properties and nutritional value, walnut product has a very good economic justification.
The head of the Kurdistan Agricultural Jihad Organization added: Kurdistan province benefits from transplanters trained by experienced foreign professors, who can guarantee the production of a quality product by branching out and transplanting walnut orchards.
Zolfaghari mentioned the payment of facilities for agricultural machinery as a priority of the Agricultural Jihad Organization and said: Currently, 55 billion Tomans with a 15% interest is ready to be paid to farmers, especially gardeners in Kurdistan.
He reminded: 5 million Tomans will be paid to farmers for each hectare of agricultural land for using new irrigation systems.
