The results of the research project on the study of economic incentives and comparative advantage of walnut production in Hamadan province show that based on the indicators of cost of domestic resources and the ratio of cost of social benefit, this product has a comparative advantage in Hamadan province and ranks second among horticultural products after almonds. has it.
The results of this project, which was presented as an article by Elmi Mohammad Jafari, a researcher at the Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center of Hamadan Province, at the first walnut conference in the country, adds: Nominal and effective support rates for this product have been positive.
Also, the evidence indicates the existence of a comparative advantage of production of this product in Hamadan province and this plan has been taught this hypothesis by using internal resource cost indices (DRC) and social benefit cost ratio (SCB) with different exchange rates.
In addition, using nominal support rates (NPR) and effective support rates (EPR), government interventions and support for this product have been evaluated.
The data of this research have been done by using field operations and completing 190 questionnaires through interviews with gardeners in the province and other statistics and information have been prepared through existing statistics.
It is worth mentioning that walnut is one of the main export items of Hamadan province and has a considerable area under cultivation in the province’s orchards.
