The head of the National Carpet Center of Iran said: The handmade carpets of five regions of Iran have been registered worldwide, and the files of two other regions have been sent for world registration, which plays an important role in preventing copying.

Hamid Kargar told reporters about the national registration of handmade carpets: The National Carpet Center of Iran intends to bring the carpet of 40 regions to the national registration based on the geographical areas of carpet production in Iran, so far the registration of 10 regions has been finalized.

He added: Double-sided all-silk carpets in Raz and Jorglan regions located in North Khorasan are among the carpets that have been nationally registered so far.

Regarding the copying of Iranian carpets by China, Kargar clarified: Such a thing has not happened in China in this regard, and China has not copied Iranian handmade carpets.

According to him, China is the eighth importer of Iranian handmade carpets.
The head of the National Carpet Center of Iran explained: Germany, UAE, Italy and France are the largest importers of Iranian carpets.

He stated: There are no specific statistics on the number of hand-woven carpet weavers in the country, but it is estimated that there are about 700,000 weavers in the country and three million square meters of hand-woven carpets are produced annually in the country, two thirds of which are exported.
