The head of the National Carpet Center of Iran said at the ceremony: Currently, 47 geographical areas of handmade carpets have been registered nationally and 29 areas have been registered globally.

He said: Handmade carpets are very important in terms of job creation. In many areas of the country that have been exposed to droughts, it is handmade carpets that can create a clean, accessible and quick-return job, as in the historical past, household livelihood assistance. In addition to livestock and agriculture, in these years when we are suffering from drought, it can also help in terms of job creation.
He continued: One of the old concerns of Iranian hand-woven carpet activists was to benefit from the carpet weavers’ insurance law, a law that was approved by the parliament and the government and was announced for implementation and has been implemented for several years. Unfortunately, the necessary credit has not been approved in recent years. Part of the country’s carpet weaving community remains behind social security doors.
The official at the National Carpet Center of Iran said that although alternative solutions such as insurance for villagers and nomads have been proposed, he added: We can cover a larger population.
Kargar added: Although the government and parliament should be given the right that the credit in this area is a great credit and more than one thousand billion tomans is the share of the implementation of this law by the government, while currently 700 billion tomans of credit is considered in this regard. It should be increased to one thousand billion tomans, but it is a valuable job that can insure 500,000 carpet weavers in the coming years.
Regarding the globalization of the global registration of Sistan handmade carpets, he said: It is natural that in many areas we see that our neighboring countries may not be as old as Iran’s historical antiquity, they are creating identities for themselves and often falsifying their identities. they do.
He continued: In many areas, we neglected to register a part of our heritage in their own name, for example, it is heard that a certain religious figure, a certain sport, etc., is being registered in the name of our neighboring countries. Efforts have been made in the field of handmade carpets so that they are not neglected and registration is done.
The head of the National Center for Handmade Carpets in Iran added: We are pleased that so far 47 geographical areas of handmade carpets have been registered nationally and 29 of them have been registered worldwide during the 11th government. A deterrent against unemployment and rivals can play a role, and it is natural that one of these areas should be the carpet of Sistan, because it has a clear and named identity and can be easily demarcated and framed.
Kargar said: It is not going to be enough here, but from now on, the issue of commercialization of this matter should be considered and each and every Sistan carpet manufacturer should use this tablet and certificate for marketing. He also announced the national registration of Baluch carpets next year as the agenda of the National Carpet Center of Iran.
