Traditional and indigenous industry of sesame products production in Ardakan city has turned Yazd province into the largest sesame products workshop complex to show that indigenous industries are a good opportunity for economic prosperity.
Alireza Taghehbaf, director of the province’s agricultural industries, announced the news, adding: Currently, more than 176 traditional and industrial production units are operating in the field of sesame production, of which 34 are industrial units and the rest are traditional and traditional. He pointed out: Only since the beginning of last year, 14 production units of sesame products have been put into operation in the province, which has created more than 200 jobs. Also, during this period, more than 60 establishment licenses for the production of sesame, halva, sesame oil, sesame oil and other sesame derivatives have been issued by the province’s agricultural industry management.
Taqehbaf continued: more than 80% of this number of units are concentrated in Ardakan city and the main products in these collections also include Halva Ardeh which is about 50%, Ardeh oil and sesame oil about 30%, Ardeh, Ardeh cream, chocolate Ardeh and Sesame sweets and other sesame derivatives are about 20%.
Referring to the fact that currently more than one thousand people are directly involved in this field, he said: In the second half of the year, due to the fact that this product is produced seasonally, this number of jobs even up to Two thousand and 200 people will increase, while more than three thousand and 500 people are indirectly involved in this profession.
Taqehbaf said: According to the available statistics, the purchase of sesame by factories in Yazd province is about 42 thousand tons per year, which produces 60 thousand tons of sesame products and three thousand and 500 tons of sesame oil.
According to him, product diversity, quality improvement and diversity in the packaging of sesame products are the main policies of this management in this industry.
The director of conversion and complementary industries of the province further stated: The raw material of these workshops is sesame, which in addition to ardeh and ardeh halva, oil is also extracted from it, which is very useful and nutritious.
He added: The production of Ardeh and Ardeh halva in Ardakan city is 130 tons per day, of which 70 tons are Ardeh and another 40 tons are Ardeh.
Referring to the importance and position of indigenous industries in the country, Taghebaf said: These industries are considered by officials for many reasons because they have benefits such as sustainable employment, helping the local and regional economy, localization of downstream and upstream industries and the existence of secure markets.
