As the rice harvest season begins in the paddy fields, the director general of the Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture’s grain office announced that rice production is expected to increase by 20 percent this year compared to last year. According to him, the main reason for the high price of this product is the dealers, because its price has increased too much in the retail stores and shops in the city.
Kaveh Khaksar stated: There is a good situation in the country in terms of rice production and it is estimated that about 2.2 million tons of white rice will be produced this year, which will increase by about 20% compared to last year with the production of 1.7 million tons. .
He added: The country’s need is about three million tons per capita consumption of 37 kg, which we will have a deficit of about 800,000 tons due to production, but this deficit will not necessarily be entered exactly, but the Deputy Minister of Commerce of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad recognizes What year to import rice according to the amount of production and inventory of the country’s warehouses.
