30% reduction in grape production in Malayer
The director of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi of Malayer city announced a 20 to 30% decrease in grape production this year compared to last year in city.
Seyed Mehdi Mirbagheri stated:
This year, almost our grape crops in the Zand and Markazi sections have been damaged,
which caused the garden products of the city to decrease by 20 to 30% compared to last year.
He added:
so far 6800 hectares of irrigated wheat and 26 thousand hectares of dryland wheat have been cultivated in Malayer farms.
Mirbagheri, stating that the guaranteed purchase price of wheat has been set at about 4,000 Tomans, said:
One of our main problems is the high cost of inputs and it is expected that these problems will be solved because people
are more inclined to cultivate wheat this year.
He pointed out that this year, 4700 hectares of rain-fed barley and 5100 hectares of irrigated barley will be cultivated in the city, and specified:
the quota of Malayer city in rapeseed cultivation was 350 hectares, of which 160 hectares have been cultivated so far.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of city announced the harvest of 9000 tons of walnuts from Malayer orchards and said:
the area of walnut orchards in Malayer is 3550 hectares and we have a good situation this year.
Referring to the implementation of the walnut branch project, he reminded:
This year, 14,000 walnut scions have been transplanted in the gardens of Malayer city, which has been done in order to improve the walnut orchards.
Mirbagheri said:
Other crops such as pistachios, dahlias and saffron can be seen in Malayer city,
which is the second city in the province in terms of pistachio production with 54 hectares and the area under cultivation
of dahlias and saffron is 93 hectares and 101 hectares, respectively.
