The head of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department of Khomeini Jihad Keshavarzi said: with the implementation of the Touba project since the beginning of this year, more than 60 hectares of sloping or low-yield lands in Khomein city have been planted with almond and walnut trees.
Mohammad Sarlak added: This year, 60 hectares of lands in Khomein city were implemented at a cost of 520 million rials under the Touba project, of which 52 hectares are under late almond cultivation and eight hectares are under walnut cultivation.
He added: Since 1378, the time of implementation of the Touba project in Khomein, now 538 hectares of low-yield lands in Khomein city have been planted with various fruit trees.
Sarlak expressed hope that more than three tons of crops per hectare could be harvested from the orchards created by this project after its fruition for the next five years.
He predicted that this year, 100 hectares of Khomeini’s lands would be planted with 90 hectares of almonds and 10 hectares of walnuts.
It is to be said; Touba plan is intended to create barren lands to fertile lands with 10% of the applicant and 90% of bank facilities without a roof, 10 years old and with 5 years of breathing.
