A total of 19,100 hectares of agricultural land were damaged due to snowfall and late spring frosts in Mako city.
Engineer Alizadeh – Head of Jihad Agriculture Department of Mako city added: The amount of damaged horticultural products is 46,577 kg in total, which includes a high percentage of agricultural products in 2004.
He added: The highest percentage of damage is related to the almond crop, which can be said that 100% of this crop has been damaged.
The head of Mako Agricultural Jihad, referring to the price of these damaged products, said: The rial value of these products is 26,404 million rials, which is a considerable figure.
Alizadeh said about the types of damaged crops: irrigated and rainfed wheat, irrigated and rainfed barley, alfalfa, canola, apricots, almonds, walnuts, grapes and apple trees are among the damaged crops of Mako city.
