Bought more than 16000 tons of raisins from vine growers
The CEO of Takestan Rural Cooperative Company said:
Last year, more than 16,000 tons of raisins were purchased from 3,000 vine growers in this city.
Waliullah Yazdi stated:
So far, 1800 of these vine growers have received the request to sell their raisins.
According to Yazdi, the demand for the remaining 1,200 raisins, which was to be paid by the end of August, has not yet been settled.
He cited the global recession and the government’s lack of timely support
for raisins as problems in not paying the demands of vineyard gardeners on time.
Criticizing the instructions issued by the government, the CEO of the Takestan County Rural Cooperative Union said:
This instruction was exactly the guaranteed purchase instruction, which made it difficult for us to support the purchase by agreement.
Yazdi added:
The agreed purchase, support was implemented for the first time in the country for the raisin product,
and before that, only the rice farmers’ product was purchased in this way.
He considered the purchase of support as only a relief and said:
Guaranteed and support purchase is by no means a suitable solution to solve the problem of farmers.
Takestan city with 25 hectares of vineyards and annual production of 60 thousand tons of raisins
is the center of production and export of this product in the country.
It has been 6 months since the vineyard growers sold their raisin crop to a cooperative and were supposed
to receive their raisin demand within three months, which has not been achieved so far.
