Grape tree pruning is done in rainfed North Khorasan
The faculty member of Shirvan Islamic Azad University said:
Pruning of grape trees in North Khorasan is done in a dry and unprincipled manner.
Ali Dadar, who has a doctorate in horticulture, pointed out that this province is one of the important centers of grape production, adding:
This is while the process of grape production in this province is done in a completely traditional way.
He continued:
Paying attention to the exact time of pruning the vine will keep the plant young,
regulate its aerial and terrestrial parts, produce a good crop and regulate the fruit of the tree.
Dadar said:
In addition, pruning the vine at the right time will reduce the attack of pests and diseases on it,
the crop will be more colorful and the amount of water stored in the roots will increase, and its durability will increase due to drought.
He stated:
Frost is one of the disadvantages of pruning vines ahead of time.
The university professor mentioned the right time to prune a vine when the temperature reached 12 degrees Celsius.
