Harvesting of ruby grapes began in the gardens of Qasr Shirin
The director of agricultural jihad of Qasr Shirin city announced the beginning of harvesting ruby grapes from the gardens of this city.
Engineer Kiomars Shahbazi announced the area under cultivation of ruby grapes in this city as 1100 hectares and said:
of this amount, 500 hectares are fertile and 600 hectares are infertile.
He said:
with an average yield of seven tons per hectare, it is predicted that this year about 3500 tons of ruby grapes,
which is 15% more than last year’s production,
will be harvested from the city’s gardens and the daily consumption market inside and outside the province.
Shahbazi added:
Due to the special climatic and geographical conditions of Qasr Shirin region,
every year we see the production of early and modern ruby grapes in this city.
He said: Fortunately, due to the favorable rainfall this year,
the ruby vineyards had a very good growth and the product is better in terms of quantity and quality than in previous years.
Shahbazi mentioned the average value of each kilo of ruby grape product as 1850 Tomans and said:
considering the yield of seven tons per hectare, the income per hectare of ruby vineyard is about 130 million Rials,
which is more lucrative than all horticultural and agricultural products in the province.
It has a lot in the economy of rural households and has also created a double motivation and desire of farmers to build ruby vineyards,
so every year we see the development of ruby vineyards in the city.
He added:
The management of agricultural jihad in Qasr Shirin city also encourages farmers to develop ruby vineyards by granting subsidized seedlings
and providing basic and technical guidelines and providing inputs as well as gardening facilities.
