The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of East Azerbaijan announced the approval of the selection of Ahar as the national city of Verni and Osko as the national city of Batik printing.

He further pointed to the unique features of production and supply of varnish and batik printing arts in the province and said: the characteristics of varnish art, weaving and batik printing can be the abundance of skilled labor as weavers and printers, the presence of raw materials in the domestic market and the possibility Its supply in local markets, traditional and indigenous production methods, variety of colors, motifs and also the possibility of adapting it to the tastes of domestic and foreign markets, he noted.
Hamzehzadeh added: These two fields are native handicrafts of East Azerbaijan province and its production is unique to this province. Due to their practical and decorative nature, there is a very suitable consumer market in the domestic and foreign arenas that in recent years has led to direct employment And indirectly, there are many people in the province.
