Barberry harvest begins in Zarand orchards
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Zarand city said: the harvest of barberry has started in this city and it is predicted that 4000 kilograms of barberry will be harvested from the gardens of this city.
Seyyed Ali Amiri announced this news: 12 hectares of the gardens of this city are under cultivation of barberry, of which five hectares are fertile and the rest are infertile.
The director of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi of Zarand city, stating that the cultivation of barberry has started in 2007 in Dashtkhak village of Zarand, said: this city has the first place in the field of cultivation and production of barberry in Kerman province.
Referring to the export of the product to the center of the province and neighboring cities, Amiri noted: Barberry is effective in treating heart disease, kidney disease and hypertension.
