Calligraphic pottery
Mojtaba Hobakht – Calligrapher said: Khosrow Shirchi and I have exhibited a collection of 28 calligraphy and calligraphy works in Sobhan Gallery.
He explained about his works: 13 works from this collection belong to me, some of which are calligraphic works and some of them are calligraphic works. In this exhibition, three calligraphic works related to Imam Hussein (AS) are presented, one of which is related to one of the poems of Mohtasham Kashani in the description of Imam Hussein (AS) and the other is the name of Imam Hussein (AS) which has been worked with gold leaf. Another of those works is a poem about Imam Hussein (AS) which has been done in the form of postmodern calligraphy.
He also stated: Among the works presented to this exhibition, there is a black work of Hafez’s poetry and an old-fashioned one in the name of God, the Most Merciful. In general, the theme of the works I have presented in this exhibition is religious.
Simultaneously with the calligraphy and calligraphy exhibition, a pottery exhibition is also held at Sobhan Gallery.
Farnaz Manteghi, a pottery artist who has exhibited her works in this gallery, explained about her works: I have presented 56 calligraphic pottery in this exhibition, which I have painted on them with traditional turquoise water glaze.
He also said: I made these works using wheels and hands and then I asked the calligrapher to calligraph them, then I highlighted the calligraphic sentences with a fine brush.
