Carpet weaving Khaf (Razavi Khorasan province) in Iran
One of the most common handicrafts in the Khawaf area is carpet weaving and carpet weaving. Carpet weaving has been common in the area since ancient times and has been carried out mostly by women. Carpet weaving is an old artistic city.
Any housewife can make a good quality rug in 1 or 6 months. Of course, in the past, carpets were only 5 to 3.5 meters and back carpets, but today carpets and large carpets have been added. The designs that were woven from the past are: quartz, needle, adobe, Turkmen, Baluchi flower, white casket, Kalatghi, Sangani, Qasem Abadi and so on.
The weft and weft used in carpet and rug weaving are raw materials such as wool, cotton and silk. Of course, carpet weaving today is not as prosperous as it used to be. The presence of women in out-of-home social activities and avoiding old housekeeping, along with a lack of livelihoods, are a result of the carpet weaving and rug production being the reasons for the carpet weaving art.
