Consumption of walnuts reduces the risk of heart disease
The Institute of Nutrition and Food Industry of the country announced: People who consume walnuts 4 times a week have 4 times less deaths due to heart attack than those who do not consume walnuts.
Each 100 grams of walnuts (15 fresh walnuts) has 686 calories, 0.5 grams of protein and 69 grams of fat, a large amount of which is unsaturated fat and some minerals such as 98 mg of calcium, 3 mg of iron, 3 Mg of zinc and 4 mg of vitamin E.
The Nutrition Institute advised families that fresh walnut kernels could not be refrigerated for six months.
