Export of 30 billion grapes of West Azerbaijan to Arab countries and Russia

The Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of the West Azerbaijan Agricultural Jihad,
noting that it is likely that 15,000 tons of grapes will be exported abroad, clarified:
Last year, produced grapes were exported to Arab countries and Russia with a value of 30 billion rials.

Fathollahzadeh, stating that 20,100 hectares of orchards in West Azerbaijan are under grape cultivation, added:
It is expected that 112,000 tons of grapes will be harvested in the province this year.
Urmia, with a production of 73,000 tons, has the highest production of grapes in the province.

He stated that there is no shortage of fresh grapes and 35% of the grapes produced in the province are consumed fresh, he specified:
30% of the grapes produced turn into raisins.

Fathollahzadeh, referring to the consumption of grapes in the province, stated:
Grapes are used in the form of fresh food, doshab, raisins, greens, juice, vinegar, juice, hair leaves, grape seed oil.

The Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of West Azerbaijan Agricultural Jihad stated that more than 30 varieties of grapes
are produced in the province, adding:
seedless white grapes, seedless red grapes, Hosseini, black grapes, Sahabi, Qizil Ozum are among the grapes produced in the province.

Fathollahzadeh pointed out that we do not import grape concentrate and in this regard, the desired amount of production is sufficient and specified:
19 concentrate units are active in the province.

Referring to the situation of the province’s conversion industries, he clarified:
155 units have received activity licenses from the province’s agricultural jihad and 769 people are working in these units.
