Exports are the main reason for the increase in onion prices in North Khorasan

The head of the Bojnourd Fruit and Vegetable Union said that exports were the main factor in the price of onion in North Khorasan.

Ismail Vahdani said: Currently, onion are sold at a price of two thousand and 200 tomans, while before that, this price was one thousand rials.

He added: Currently, onion harvested from Jiroft farms are exported to countries such as Turkmenistan, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Vahdani continued: the stored onion are also exported to the surrounding cities such as Ghaemshahr, etc., and that is one of the reasons for the increase in the price of this product in the province.

In response to the question whether enough onion were not stored in the warehouses of this province to prevent the price increase, he said: Onion are stored enough in the warehouses but are exported to other provinces.
