Harvesting 240,000 tons of onions from Hormozgan arable lands

Since the beginning of the harvest season, 240,000 tons of onions have been harvested from 9,350 hectares of agricultural lands in Hormozgan.

The director of agricultural affairs of Hormozgan Agricultural Jihad predicted that 264,800 tons of crops would be harvested by the end of the harvest season.

Seyyed Reza Amirizadeh, stating that the onion harvest season in the province is the second half of March to mid-May, clarified: this year’s harvest has increased by 15% compared to last year.

He said that the reason for the increase in production was the increase in the area under cultivation and stated: The most important areas for onion cultivation in the province are the cities of Rudan, Bandar Abbas, Minab, Parsian and Bandar Lengeh.

Amirizadeh added: The harvested onions will be sent to the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Fars and East Azerbaijan.
