Exports in 9 months $ 335 million handmade carpets

Exports of handmade carpets in the first nine months of this year reached 334 million and 790 thousand dollars,
which shows a decrease of seven percent compared to the same period last year.
According to the public relations of Iran’s customs, the largest amount of Iranian handmade carpets,
ie 67% of the total, was exported to Germany, the United States, Italy, the United Arab Emirates and Japan.
Germany with 77 million and 690 thousand dollars, America with 63 million and 408 thousand dollars,
Italy with 30 million and 854 thousand dollars, UAE with 29 million and 192 thousand dollars and Japan with 23 million and 488 thousand dollars
are among the best carpet buyers. They were Iranian handmade in the first 9 months of this year.
The total export of handicraft products, including calligraphy fabrics, inlays, handmade carpets, kilo zillow,
turquoise and precious stones and other handicrafts, was 422 million and 568 thousand dollars,
which has increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
Among the sub-items of export handicraft products in this period, exports of turquoise and precious stones,
other handicraft products and inlays increased by 150, 143 and 169 percent, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year.
During the mentioned period, 49 million dollars of turquoise and precious stones, 28 million and 480 thousand dollars of other handicrafts
and 741 thousand dollars of various inlays were exported abroad.
During the first nine months of this year, the export of kilims and zillows increased by 71% compared to the same period last year
and reached 8 million 893 thousand dollars.
During this period, 564 thousand and 467 dollars of pen cloth were exported abroad, which decreased by 13% compared to the same period
of the previous year.
