Figs are being harvested from 30 hectares of Khash orchards
The director of Khash Agricultural Jihad said: figs will be harvested from 30 hectares of orchards in the city from early August to the end of September.
Amanullah Toghi stated: It is expected that 150 tons of figs will be harvested from the gardens of this city this year.
He said: Fig tree is welcomed by Khash gardeners in terms of resistance to drought and water shortage, as well as proper marketability, so that its cultivated area has grown by eight percent compared to last year.
He added: The harvested figs of this city are offered in Zahedan, Iranshahr and Nikshahr markets.
The director of Khash Agricultural Jihad stated: Figs are a popular fruit due to their carbohydrates, sodium, potassium and anti-cancer properties.
