Grape production in Semnan is twice the average in Iran
The director of horticulture affairs of Jihad Keshavarzi of Semnan province announced the average production of grapes in the country
as 12 tons per hectare and said:
this amount was 23 tons per hectare in the province, which shows that the province’s grape harvest is twice the national average.
Lotfollah Rezaei added:
over 4470 hectares of orchards in this province were under grape cultivation, from which 86 thousand and 817 tons of grapes were harvested last year.
He stated that in 1390, 85 thousand and 53 tons of orchards were harvested in the province,
noting that the amount of grape production in 1391 compared to 1390 shows a growth of 2.1 percent.
Rezaei stated that the highest area under grape cultivation is related to Sorkh Fakhri cultivar of Shahroud, and specified:
this cultivar occupies about 70% of the cultivated area of the province’s orchards.
He continued:
Lal, Sefid Fakhri, Khalili, Asgari, Rish Baba, Sahebi, Shahani, etc., are other famous grape cultivars in the province.
The director of horticulture of the province pointed out:
in order to develop vineyards, paying subsidies for seedlings to grape seedlings,
special facilities from the agricultural sector development plan are on the agenda of the Agricultural Jihad Organization.
The senior horticultural expert said:
Last year, based on a joint project with the Atlas Agricultural Research Center,
a comprehensive list of food shortages and surpluses that reduce yields or food poisoning was prepared,
the result of which is in the form of promotional publications for users. it placed.
Rezaei stated:
Considering that the development of vineyards in subtropical and temperate regions using compatible cultivars
is one of the policies of this management, in this regard, since last year,
new cultivars (pearl and film) and domestic tropical cultivars such as ruby for propagation
and The development of the gardens has been implemented operationally.
The director of horticulture of Jihad Keshavarzi of the province, continued:
in this regard, in order to achieve the goals of the fifth development plan,
over 1100 hectares will be added to the area under cultivation of vineyards during five years.
Referring to the time of grape harvest in the province, he said:
The time of harvest of early grapes such as rubies in the province begins in early June and the harvest of the latest grape cultivar in the province,
namely Sorkh Fakhri cultivar, continues until November 6.
Rezaei stated:
Sorkh Fakhri cultivar of Shahroud is also one of the quality and famous cultivars of the country
which has a very high storage property and even during the winter season it is present in most of the sales centers and fruit shops of the country.
He added:
Part of the Red Fakhri product is exported to some countries in the Caspian Sea due to its high durability.
