Harvesting 1000 tons of Khark and Rotab from Shadegan groves
Hamid Matroudi stated: Shadegan is one of the major dates in the country and according to available statistics, most of the country’s dates are produced in this region.
He added: Currently, Khark and Rotab harvests have started from Shadegan groves and it is predicted that the harvest will reach 26,000 tons by the end of the harvest, which is a 20% decrease compared to the same period last year.
The director of Shadegan Agricultural Jihad clarified about the reasons for the decrease in agricultural production of this city: Drought and water shortage of rivers have negative effects on the production of crops and these issues have caused heavy losses to the agricultural production sector.
He stated: Khark harvest in terms of regional conditions in different parts of the city continues until mid-August and Rotb harvest until mid-September.
In the end, Matroudi said: the area of Shadegan palm trees reaches 12 thousand and 350 hectares, of which 10 thousand and 350 hectares are fertile, one thousand hectares are infertile and one thousand hectares are seedlings.
