Director General of Sistan and Baluchestan Agricultural Jihad,
stating that the harvest of ruby ​​grapes begins every year in early June in the province, said:
Sistan and Baluchestan has 3527 hectares of vineyards, of which more than 90% is red ruby ​​grapes.

Reza Najafi stated this:
It is predicted that more than 26,000 tons of grapes will be produced and sent to the market at the end of the harvest season.

He added:
with the occurrence of drought and drying of more than 2500 hectares of vineyards in the region, Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization
with the participation of farmers by creating 10 licensed nurseries and producing seedlings required by the province,
the level of vineyards in the province has increased and now in 15 cities Ruby grapes are cultivated and the drainage cities of Hamoon Khash,
Helmand and Zahedan have the most vineyards.

Najafi said:
500,000 ruby ​​grape seedlings are produced annually in licensed nurseries in the province,
and in 1993, 260,000 subsidized seedlings were produced among farmers in order to develop vineyards,
for which 1 billion and 690 million Rials in subsidies were paid to seedling producers. Is.

He added:
Considering that ruby ​​grapes are the most economical horticultural product in Sistan region and can play a great role in improving the economic
situation of the people of the region, a project is underway to complete the large water supply project through 46,000 hectares of land in Sistan plain.
The province’s vineyards will increase to more than 20,000 hectares.

In addition to ruby ​​red grapes, other grape cultivars including Sangak Amiri white ruby,
Amal Lal Haji Abbasi, Kandahari cows, slave ewes and brides’ thumbs are cultivated and produced in Sistan and Baluchestan.
