How to dry fresh barberry at home
Drying fresh barberry prevents mold and rot, and dried barberry is easier to store. Barberry is generally dried in three ways: sun dry, dry shade and industrial. In the industrial method and dry sun, the color of barberry seeds is damaged, therefore the color quality of the product is reduced. There is fresh red barberry in early fall and fresh black barberry in late fall. You can buy fresh barberry and dry it at home in the following ways:
The first method:
Hang the barberry branches in a dark, well-ventilated place. Airflow prevents barberry mold.
Barberry may take months to dry.
After drying, gently shake the twigs to separate the barberry seeds.
Drying of barberry comma makes it not spoil during storage.
Sunlight can also be used to dry barberry. Of course, sunlight causes the barberries to become discolored and sometimes black.
The second method:
Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice.
Drain the seeds and let them drain.
Spread the barberries on a clean cloth in the shade to dry.
You can use fan wind to dry the barberry.
Turn the barberries over every once in a while so that they dry faster and do not stick to each other.
After the barberries are completely dry, wash them to separate the barberries from each other and remove dust.
The colors of barberry that are dried with this method are of lower quality than the previous method.
Third method:
Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice
Then pour into a strainer to remove excess water.
Spread the barberries on a cloth for a few hours to remove moisture.
After a few hours, place the barberries on a tray and place near or under the stove to dry.
