Carpet weaving is one of the industries of Iran that dates back to the millennia BC and is a popular souvenir that attracts Nowruz
tourists to the traditional markets of Kermanshah to buy it.
At present, more than 2,000 people in different parts of the province, including Harsin, Kermanshah, Gilan-e-Gharb and Javanrood,
are engaged in the production of kilim, of which the kilim of Harsin are world-famous, as mentioned in the books of Western Iranian scholars. Is.
The existence of suitable pastures in Harsin for breeding cattle that provide the necessary fibers for kilim is one of the reasons for the prosperity
of kilim weaving in this region. Hersin has been able to influence other areas of the province in terms of design,
color and texture because of this quality.
In the kilim of the province and especially Harsin, motifs such as spring motifs, honorable motifs of sparrow tree and nest, spotted mal, duck, snake,
scissors, samovar, doll, vertical and horizontal lines, striped spools, melon wedges, cat paws, flowers,
Cashmere and needle flowers are clearly visible.
It is worth mentioning that the types of kilim are rugs, cultural berries, small bergamot, mahay dirham, red rose, free design and embossed,
which are usually woven in rural houses of the province by women.

Kilim weaving is a home handicraft that is popular in most parts of Kermanshah province.
The kilim, in its traditional form, is commonly used to cover floors, walls, or bedspreads for load-bearing animals, but is now also purchased as a modern cover for townhouses.
The colors used in traditional kilims are vegetable.
With the weaving technique of kilim, various tools are prepared. Pitch beds (night tents), pouches and rugs are examples of them.
The kilim can be examined in two ways:
One in terms of texture and the other in terms of role. The rug is woven in most simple places.
The designs and patterns of Kermanshah province kilim are divided into three parts: Kalhranshin, Oramanat and Hersin. In addition to the common features in design and color, there are also creations in the work of each region.
Currently, about 3,000 kilim or weavers are working in Kermanshah province, most of whom are in the Harsin region.
