Mehriz pistachio orchards are worth 350 billion rials
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Mehriz city said: Natural coercive factors have lacked a general criterion for evaluating the agricultural situation of the city.
Mohammad Hassan Jahanabadi stated: Due to these natural coercive factors, agricultural production in the last crop year has not increased compared to the previous year.
He stated that 10 thousand hectares of the lands of this city are cultivated with horticultural products, and said: three quarters of the cultivated area of the gardens of Mehriz city worth 350 billion Rials has been allocated to pistachio trees.
He reminded: 7,000 hectares of the lands of this city are fertile pistachio and another 600 hectares are pistachio seedlings.
Jahanabadi stated: 1,400 hectares of almonds, 680 hectares of fertile pomegranates and seedlings, and 250 hectares of walnuts have been allocated to this city.
He mentioned and specified the area of cultivation of crops of this city as 3,500 hectares: 1,050 hectares worth eight billion of the lands of this city are cultivated with wheat, 418 hectares of the lands of this city are cultivated with alfalfa, 149 hectares of the lands of this city are cultivated with Turnips and sugar beets are fodder and 232 hectares of land in this city are cultivated with barley.
Jahanabadi considered the area of fallow lands in this city to be 4,000 hectares.
