Deputy of Plant Production Improvement of Guilan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization said: Peanut as the most important crop after rice has an effective role in the economy of farmers in the region.
Habib Jahansaz pointed to the development of the agricultural sector in Gilan and said: Peanut as the most important crop after rice has an effective role in the economy and livelihood of farmers in the region.
Referring to the demands of farmers regarding the impossibility of access to pure seeds in different seed classes and new high-yield peanut cultivars, he added: The decline in yield, the prevalence of pests and diseases is real and logical.
Jahansaz, while announcing its readiness for any cooperation in providing agricultural land for the implementation of research projects in the city of Astana Ashrafieh, emphasized the preparation of technical instructions, promotional publications and the generalization of research results to the field of agriculture.
Although these days the traces of peanuts that were once cultivated only in Ashrafieh threshold can be seen in different parts of Gilan including Rasht, Talesh, Rudbar and Anzali, but Ashrafieh threshold still produces more than 80% of Iran’s peanuts by producing 9125 tons. And is the center of production of this product in the country.
5000 almonds are active in Astana Ashrafieh city.
According to the Jihad Agricultural Organization, in the traditional method of almond production, almond farmers spend an average of seven million tomans per hectare, which is reduced by half by mechanizing all stages of production.
70% of Astana peanut fields are capable of machine production.
Currently, peanuts are grown by machine only on 25 hectares of peanut fields, and only at the planting stage.
