Prediction of 2250 tons of rice harvest in Tarom city
The head of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi in Tarom city announced the forecast of harvesting 2250 tons of rice in Tarom city.
Alireza Amari stated: Rice harvest has started in Tarom city and in the current crop year, 750 hectares of agricultural lands of Tarom city, which are mainly lands along the Ghezel Ozan river, have been allocated for rice cultivation. It is predicted that about 2250 tons of white rice will be harvested from this area and the rial value of this product is estimated at 225 billion rials.
The official pointed out: 1300 farmers in this city are engaged in cultivating this crop and every year the rice harvest starts from the beginning of September with the harvest of direct cultivation farms and in general with the harvest of seedling cultivation farms continues until the end of October. The product produced by the city, due to its very high quality, in addition to meeting the needs of the city and the province, is also exported to other parts of the country.
The official clarified: The cultivars cultivated in Tarom city include Ali Kazemi and different types of Sadri rice. Also, among the important measures of the Jihad-e-Agriculture management of the city, regarding rice, we can mention the provision of inputs, technical visits and providing extension training.
Amari also said about the onion crop of this city: according to the forecasts made in the current crop year, about 520 hectares of arable lands of this city will be allocated for onion cultivation. Currently, 600 farmers are cultivating this crop in the city. It is also expected that about 16 thousand and 640 tons of onion crops will be harvested in the current crop year. Harvest time of this product in Tarom city is early August to early September.
The head of Tarom Jihad-e-Keshavarzi stated: In addition to domestic production in the city and province, the product of this city is exported to neighboring provinces such as Gilan, Qazvin, Tehran and other provinces of the country.
