Production forecast of 11,000 tons of rice in Zanjan province
The head of the agriculture department of the Jihad Agriculture Organization of Zanjan province announced the forecast of production of 11,000 tons of rice in this province.
Hossein Ameri stated: At present, Zanjan province is one of the most important rice producing regions in the country and the rice produced in this province is famous in terms of quality, flavor and taste; In fact, rice in Zanjan province is cultivated in Zanjan, Tarom and Mahneshan counties, and Zanjan county, with an area under cultivation of 2050 hectares, is the main producer of rice in the province.
The official stated that the total area under rice cultivation in Zanjan province is 3000 hectares and added: about 200 hectares of this area belong to Mahneshan city and the remaining 700 hectares belong to Tarom city.
Referring to the amount of rice harvest from Zanjan province during this year, Ameri continued: It is predicted that a total of 11,000 tons of rice will be harvested and sent to the market in Zanjan province this year. Meanwhile, Sadri, Ali Kazemi, Hashemi and some local cultivars are the main rice cultivars cultivated in Zanjan province.
The head of the agriculture department of Zanjan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization pointed out: The harvest of rice in this province has started in mid-October in Zanjan city and will continue until the end of October in Tarom city.
