Sour tea and its medicinal properties
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Fanuj city said: the area under sour tea cultivation in Sistan and Baluchestan is 660 hectares, of which Delgan, Fanuj and Iranshahr counties have the highest area under cultivation of this product.
According to the Jihad-e-Agriculture Department of Fanuj city, Houdiani added: This year, the area under cultivation of this crop in this city has doubled compared to the same period last year and has reached 40 hectares.
Houdiani stated that the benefits of cultivating this plant are resistance to pests, low need for fertilizers and chemical toxins, and its organic nature.
He said that this year more than 30 tons of crop will be harvested from the cultivated lands of Fanuj sour tea, adding that this product will be used as a drink, syrup and jam.
In order to support farmers and increase the area under cultivation of this product, the management of Fanuj Agricultural Jihad will provide the seeds of this product to farmers for free next year, said Didevar, an extension expert for the management of the Fanuj Agricultural Jihad Office. .
Referring to the medicinal properties of sour tea, Ghasemi, a plant production expert, said: This plant is useful for controlling hypertension and blood sugar, cholesterol, liver diseases, blood purification, skin and hair care, and prevents cancer.
