Supply of 10 thousand tons of hazelnuts to domestic and foreign markets this year
The director of Rudsar agricultural jihad said: this year, 10,000 tons of hazelnuts will be supplied to domestic and foreign markets, while 85% of the country’s hazelnuts will be supplied in Rudsar city.
Ehsanullah Mushtaq said: Considering that the hazelnut harvest has started from the lower and upper Eshkorat areas, this year it is predicted that 10,000 tons will be produced on 12,000 hectares of lands in the sugarcane orchards and offered to consumer markets.
He added: From each hectare of hazelnut orchards, one ton of crop is harvested and during the last few years, seven varieties of new hazelnut cultivars have been added to the country’s hazelnut production.
According to Mushtaq, due to the weather conditions, we did not have an increase in hazelnut production this year.
