The head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of the south of Kerman province said:
the harvest of ruby grapes from more than 5 hectares of model farms in the village of Morad Abad in the Ismaili district will
begin in June and will continue until the end of this month.
Majid Darini added:
From the beginning of April 2010, the horticultural management of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of South Kerman bought ruby grape
seedlings and distributed them among farmers for free.
He reminded:
the plan to replace grapes instead of citrus was first carried out in the village of Moradabad Block at the level of 5 hectares,
and now we are witnessing the harvest of crops that have economic fertility in the region and enter the market in a new way.
Drini predicted:
on average, 7 tons of grapes will be harvested from each hectare of vineyards in this region.
He said:
In line with the plan to improve the cultivation pattern in areas where pests and diseases,
including citrus greening and lemon broom have damaged the orchards, we recommended replacing grapes.
