The director of horticulture of Fars Jihad Agricultural Organization announced the beginning of grape harvest in Qirokarzin and Jahrom counties.

Majid Reza Pakari said:
There are more than 63,000 hectares of vineyards in Fars province and it produces 765 tons of grapes annually.

He said that Fars has the first rank in the area under cultivation and production of grapes in the country, he said:
Grape harvest begins every year in mid-June in the tropics and continues until October.

Pakari announced the first grape variety to be harvested as early ruby ​​and added:
The highest amount of grape production in Fars is related to the northern cities of this province.

The official noted:
Abadeh, Eghlid, Estahban, Bavanat, Pasargad, Jahrom, Khorrambid, Darab, Sepidan, Shiraz, Firoozabad, Kazerun, Kavar,
Neyriz and Mamasani have the highest grape production in Fars province.

Pakari added:
Grapes are produced in this province in the form of rainfed and irrigated and with cultivars of raisin, currant, Askari, Rutabi, Rish Baba and ruby.

Horticulture director of Fars Jihad Agricultural Organization said:
In addition to meeting the domestic needs of the province and the country,
Fars grapes are exported to the countries bordering the Persian Gulf and some European countries.
