The growing trend of pottery brands in Shahroud
The Deputy Minister of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of the country said: Shahroud city is one of the centers of quality and artistic pottery production in the country.
Bahman Namvar Motlagh, while visiting Shahroud handicraft workshops, added: Fortunately, the number of Shahroud pottery brands is increasing and this city can be introduced as one of the candidates for the national pottery cities of Iran.
He said: Shahroud pottery has a good position in terms of quality, but it should also be upgraded in terms of quantity and upgraded to a mass level, because currently pottery production in this city is becoming semi-mass. Pottery production in Shahroud must meet the current and widespread needs in various fields, especially in the field of food industry and decoration.
Namvar Motlagh, stating that the art of pottery is being revived throughout the country, added: This year, the village nominated as a global village in Iran was the Kalpurgan pottery village in Sistan and Baluchestan, which shows the increasing attention of the government to handicrafts and pottery.
During his visit to the handicraft workshops in Abrasaj village of Shahroud, he also examined the problems of craftsmen and promised to provide facilities, repair and provide financial felt machines, and so on.
It was also decided that the necessary follow-up on issues related to insurance and retirement of artists should be done through the General Administration of Semnan Province.
The Deputy Minister of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts of the country, together with the Director General of Cultural Heritage of Semnan Province and the Head of Cultural Heritage of Shahroud city, visited Shahroud handicraft workshops yesterday. Four thousand and 500 artists are working in different fields of handicrafts in Semnan Province.
