The head of the East Azerbaijan Carpet Weavers Union said: Tabriz hand-woven carpet is the cultural ambassador of Iran all over the world and has been able to gain a foothold in five continents and we will do our best to ensure that carpet weavers enjoy this opportunity in a safe and peaceful atmosphere. Ismail Chamani stated that about 500,000 people, equivalent to one sixth of the province’s population, make a living directly from the production of handmade carpets, adding that about 30 arts and crafts related to carpets are active.
He said: Two months ago, representatives of the World Handicrafts Council came to Tabriz and during their visits, they were informed about the general situation of the Tabriz hand-woven carpet industry and realized the position of Tabriz as the carpet capital of the world.
He said: in order to hold the carpet conference as glorious as possible, a working group headed by the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization and members of the Chamber of Commerce and related organizations has been formed and it is scheduled to hold this conference on October 5 in Mozaffariyeh Bazaar, which was previously registered worldwide. To be held.
The head of the East Azerbaijan Carpet Weavers’ Union reminded: Apart from this conference, an exhibition of exquisite carpets will be held, which will display the highest and most exquisite handmade carpets.
He added: We are trying to include Tabriz’s World Registration Day as the capital of the world in the calendar of the Islamic Republic of Iran and also to register one of the main streets of the city as a handmade carpet.
